Our Story
OAT ART STUDIO® is a Canadian-owned, artist-founded painting colour brand created by visual artist Grace Tao.
The name OAT comes from TAO spelled backwards. It reflects not only Grace’s family name, but also a way of thinking creatively — looking at something familiar from a different perspective and discovering new possibilities.
Founded in Canada in 2018, OAT ART STUDIO® grew from Grace’s own experience as a working artist and her passion for painting materials.
Artist Founded
Grace Tao is a Canadian visual artist with more than 10 years of professional art experience.
As an artist, she understands how important colour, texture, consistency and performance are in the painting process. OAT ART STUDIO® products are selected, developed and tested with real studio practice in mind.
Many of the paints and materials are used directly in Grace’s own artwork, allowing the products to be evaluated not only by specifications, but through everyday painting experience.
