Our Story
OAT is TAO spelled backwards.
My name is Grace Tao, and the name OAT ART STUDIO® comes from my last name, Tao, written in reverse. To me, this small reversal reflects a creative way of thinking — seeing familiar things from a different angle and discovering new possibilities.
As a professional artist with over 10 years of studio practice, I created OAT ART STUDIO® as a Canadian-owned painting colour brand for artists who love rich colour, expressive texture, and dependable materials. Our collection focuses on watercolor, metallic watercolor, acrylic, and oil paints — the essential colours I use, test, and develop with real painting workflow in mind.
